Féile Fichille Chess Competition – Diamond Coast Hotel

Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in the prestigious Féile Fichille Chess Competition, held in the beautiful Diamond Coast Hotel. This amazing international event brought together talented young chess players from all over the world, creating an atmosphere of excitement, focus, and friendly competition.

Throughout the tournament, our students demonstrated outstanding skill, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship. It was a fantastic experience for them to compete, meet players from different schools and other countries, and represent our school with pride.

One of the highlights of the event was being interviewed by Ireland AM TV, giving our students a chance to share their enthusiasm for chess on national television. It was a memorable and proud moment for everyone involved.

We are extremely proud of all the students who participated and represented our school so brilliantly. Events like Féile Fichille inspire confidence, resilience, and a love of learning that extends far beyond the chessboard.

Credit Union Quiz 2026 – Ballina

Well done to our two fantastic teams who represented our school at the Credit Union Quiz 2026 in Ballina. We were delighted to have one team competing in the Under 10 category and one team in the Under 12 category.

Both teams took part in a wide range of challenging rounds, including Geography, History, Maths, and General Knowledge. The pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork, knowledge, and composure throughout the competition.

While our teams did not place on this occasion, they performed exceptionally well and were very happy with their results. Taking part in such a competitive event is a wonderful achievement in itself, and they represented our school with great pride and enthusiasm.

We are extremely proud of all the pupils involved and commend them for their hard work, preparation, and positive attitude.
