We all arrived back to school at the end of August refreshed and raring to go!

We welcomed our Junior Infants who have settled in well. Everyone is enjoying the transition to big school and are doing an excellent job with their tin whistles.

We like to spend as much time outside as we can when the weather is nice. We enjoy going for nature walks and making full use of the school yard and the Stokane Community Park at break times. A lot of football is played alongside rounders and other team games. The younger pupils enjoy playing with the sand box or outdoor kitchen and are mastering the monkey bars.

 The music teacher Mr. Neary, arrives every Tuesday morning and each school day beings with music practice. We have a wide variety of traditional instruments being played within the school including tin whistles, fiddles, accordions, harp, keyboard, concertina and piccolo.

All of our pupils are participating in Gymnastics training and are really enjoying it. Our thanks go to Nadia Gym for facilitating us. As Nadia Gym necessitates a coach journey into town we are taking full advantage. So far there has been some time spent in the Tom Ruane Park and a trip to the Jackie Clarke Museum. Who knows where we will end up next!

The senior pupils are honing their skills in chess alongside the more traditional subjects. Its great to see the pupils learn to strategise. Competition will be fierce once the games begin!
