Our Graduation Mass and Celebration for our Sixth class was held last week.
It included a lovely Mass by Father Kelly and a musical celebration by all the pupils who got to showcase their musical talent and singing under the guidance of Mr Peter Neary and Ms Barry. Unfortunately, Mr Neary could not join us on the day. Our thanks go to both Father Kelly and Mr Neary for their participation and support.
Mrs Bonner and Mrs Flynn both discussed the trials and tribulations of teaching this particular group of students from Junior Infants all the way through to Sixth class and the students that joined the class along the way. They explained how much fun they had teaching them and had a few stories to tell!
Each Sixth-class pupil then spoke about their favourite and most memorable times at Stokane N.S. Many of their memories evoked a lot of laughter from the audience as they talked about the funny occurrences in school life. Some parents learned a few new things about their children that they were not aware of before! The illicit trading of Match Attax cards and the temporary removal of a duck from the pond were two scenarios mentioned…..
Everyone had a welcome cup of tea or coffee afterwards along with a fantastic spread of goodies provided by the Parents’ Association. The Graduation Cake was Lego themed to highlight the school’s huge success in the First Lego League this year.
Graduation Day is always an emotional day for everyone. We are delighted to see our Sixth class move onward and upward in the world but will miss them as part of our school. We love to get regular updates on how they are getting on and hope that they will come back and visit us when they can.
We would like to extend a big thankyou to all the parents, grandparents and friends who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the day.
