Our Stokane National School Sports Day turned into a sports week as we tried to fit in all the necessary races, team events and games in between the showers. The pupils though it was great fun to nip out and run a quick 3-legged race or obstacle course event between their classes if the sun showed his face! We did get to do all of the listed events and managed to avoid most of the showers.
These included the 3 legged race, bean bag throwing, the wheelbarrow race, the egg and spoon race, an obstacle course, wellie throwing and the knicker race to name a few.
Our Junior and Senior Sports Star Trophies were awarded at the end of our sports week.
Traditionally at Stokane National School we have a water fight to finish up our sports day and it is one of the most highly anticipated events in our school calendar! This year because we did not have a dedicated Sports Day it was moved to the last day of School. Anyone who wanted to participate came to school armed the necessary equipment which ranged from sqeezie bottles to Super Soakers!! The containers were filled and while the rain poured down the water fight commenced. Great fun was had by all, both those that participated and those that watched. It was a great fun way to end the last day of school.
