First Lego League Challenge Competition 2022
Huge Congratulations go to our Sixth Class Students who participated in the First Lego League Challenge Competition held in DCU last week. They were awarded a trophy for their focus on Team Work and Core Values.
In advance of the day, they had to build a robot and program it to carry out various tasks which included unloading a plane, closing a bridge and dropping a package from a crane!
They had to create an innovation project that would benefit the community, they chose to investigate accessing a wind powered electric bus for the school. They presented on their robot design, team core values and their innovation project to a panel of judges
On the day in the Robot Games section, they had two and a half minutes to carry out as many tasks as they could. They had 3 attempts and could make amends to their programming based on judges’ feedback in between. It was very exciting for all concerned!!
As well as focusing on the Lego building and programming aspects of the competition the First Lego League also focuses on and rewards inclusion, team work, innovation and impact, exploring new ideas and most important of all, having fun.
They also got to have a sneak peek around the Campus!
Well done to Sixth Class for their hard work and achievements in First Lego League 2022 and we look forward to returning next time.
