We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday the 3rd of March, promoting the enjoyment of books and reading for children and young people. Everybody brought their favourite book to school and dressed up as a character they enjoy reading about. We had a wonderful variety of characters arrive into school each bearing a favourite book, as you can see from the photos. Everybody got to explain why they chose the book they had brought in and tell us a little bit about it. The teachers were not to be left out and dressed up as a selection of coloured crayons from the book “The day the Crayons came to school”, a definate favourite with the younger students in the school. The senior classes also created some art work that depicted them selves holding the book they had brought in on the day.
